| She had a gynecological surgery on July 18,2007. A foreign object put in her eroded and caused a fistula (a tear between two organs). As a result, she had to have an ileostomy. The doctors said it would be temporary - that the fistula could be repaired. She has had five surgeries without definite results. Next month we are going to New York to see a specialist, and then decide whether to have him perform another more extensive surgery, with some risk involved. Thank you. |

For Wisdom and Discernment Pray that as a congregation we would be introspective, inspired and energized to serve God in our own city and community.Pray that a spirit of unity and peace will be established among those working in Christ's name (regardless of differences) as a testimony to God’s presence and activity in the world. Pray for the newly formed strategic direction planning team, that we may discern where God is leading Chapelwood to take its next step. Pray for wisdom and discernment in regards to three ministry opportunities Dr. Jackson spoke about at the November Board of Stewards meeting: 1) prayer retreat center, 2) which path to take for the Hispanic ministry, and 3) the ¾ house ministry Mercy Street feels called to begin.
For our Staff Pray for refreshment and spiritual vigor for our staff, especially since we’re all still dealing with the loss of Bill Marshall. Pray for physical healing for Jennifer Smith, Jerry Webber, and Barbara Allen’s son. Pray for Bob Lindsey as he begins his ministry as Chapelwood’s Business Administrator. Pray for Melissa Maher who just graduated from Asbury Seminary with her Masters of Divinity and joins our staff in the serving ministry in March 2008. For our Lay Ministers Pray for the teachers of adults that they will teach in a way that not only passes on information but also brings about transformation in the lives of those they teach. Pray for our intercessory prayer ministry . . . for those who submit prayer requests online and for those who pray and write notes of encouragement. Pray for those taking the Spiritual Foundations and Building on the Foundation classes that they would experience a vital sense of God’s presence and vigor in their lives. For Global Missions Pray for reconciliation and peace in Kenya as well as the Sudan and Pakistan that our gifts may be effectively utilized and fulfill their purpose for the Kingdom. Pray for Nothing but Nets initiative to be fruitful, saving many lives in Africa from the disease of malaria and for the administrators to us the funds given by Chapelwood and others in effective, wise ways. Pray for our church’s mission teams currently in Cambodia and Tapachula, Mexico, and for the teams being formed for Kenya, Matamoros, Oklahoma and other places in Texas and the world. Pray for missionaries and pastors that we support around the world in Cambodia, Mexico, Kenya, Estonia, Tanzania, etc. who serve God faithfully and often in difficult circumstances.
For our Youth and Children Pray for the sixth graders currently in confirmation, for their parents and for their table leaders. Pray for the adult leaders who serve in Sunday School and small groups that their ministries would be ones of friendship in Christ’s name to the young people in our midst.
